Spider-man: No Way Home

Spider-man: No Way Home is the latest Marvel movie to be released in cinemas. It premiered on the 15th December 2021 and is 2 and a half hours long. It is highly commendable in my opinion and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

After the events of Far From Home, following Mysterio’s death, Peter’s identity is revealed to the general outrage of the public. There is chaos as everyone tries to find him and he is forced into hiding. He and his friends Ned and MJ are denied entrance into the college of their dreams. Peter goes to Doctor Strange in the Sanctum Sanctorum and there he offers him a spell that has the power to make everyone forget him. However, mid-casting Peter alters the spell too many times to exclude certain people that it goes out of control. Suddenly anyone who knows the identity of Peter Parker from any universe is summoned to Earth including some special guests from past movies. At first, he tries to send them back but then his Aunty May persuades him to give them a second chance.

He figures out a way to help each of them but Norman Oswald, The Goblin ruins the plan and kills someone very close to Peter. He is grief-stricken and refuses to be held responsible for the escaped villains. However, his friends manage to persuade him to keep fighting.

And he does manage to save the day in the end. The movie explores Peter Parker’s double life and what happened when he was revealed to the world. I like how there is a double plot and that it is actually unexpected unlike those of many other movies. I also like how it is unique because all the villains are released at once, not one at a time or even in different movies which creates a greater sense of danger. I also really like how it involved Doctor Strange even though it was very surprising when peter beat him in his own world.

I think the next movie might be about him rediscovering his life and maybe some new villains. It would be interesting to see more of the MCU in the next movie because it would create a lot more options for where the next movie would go. It is unclear whether Tom Holland will be Spiderman in the next movie but it is possible as the ending sets up a potential storyline for him.

Overall, I was very impressed with this movie. It was unique and very interesting. The trailer of this movie was record-breaking; it received 355.5 million views on the first day. The previous record was for Endgame which got 289 million views. It also beat the record for the first post-pandemic movie to earn $1 billion. It can be viewed in cinemas but won’t come to Disney+ until later next year.
